About Us

The origins of Château Juncarret date back to the 16th century, when the estate—home to the royal treasurer—was already surrounded by vines. Our family, winemakers since the 19th century, acquired the property in 1955 and has since carried on a terroir-driven expertise.

At the heart of Graves de Vayres

Our vineyard (about 20 ha) lies in the commune of Vayres, within the AOC Graves de Vayres, on the left bank of the Dordogne. Here, the graves (gravelly and sandy-gravel soils) release stored warmth at night, while the river and the Mascaret tidal bore create a tempered microclimate that favours steady ripening and precise aromatic expression.

Wines that reflect the terroir

  • Reds (AOC Graves de Vayres): Merlot (fruit, roundness), Cabernet Sauvignon (structure), Cabernet Franc (finesse, freshness).
  • Dry & sweet whites (AOC Graves de Vayres): Sauvignon (freshness), Sémillon (body, length), Muscadelle (floral notes).
  • Rosés (AOC Bordeaux): fresh and fruit-driven, crafted for summer cuisine.
  • Bordeaux / Bordeaux Supérieur reds: complementary expressions of our Bordeaux style.

2025: a symbolic year

The year 2025 marks 70 years of our family at the estate. More than ever, our goal remains the same: crafting wines true to their terroir— fruit-forward, balanced and enjoyable young, with cellaring potential depending on the vintage.

In both vineyard and cellar, we focus on precision—parcel selection, optimal ripeness and careful ageing. We welcome you by appointment for visits and on-site collections, and offer direct online sales with clear information on vintages and styles.
